The biggest international event of the Habano tobacco culture comes to a close. The Gala Evening provided a fitting end that saw the presentation of the new Linea 1935, the brand’s most premium offer. Guests at the evening celebration could taste the three vitolas of the novel Línea 1935: Maltés (53 x 153 mm) and Dumas (49 x 130 mm), while Leyenda (55 x 165 mmm) takes the form of the Montecristo 80 Aniversario. The traditional Humidores Auction provided the finishing touches to the Festival. An exquisite Bolivar-branded humidified cigar box was put up for auction. The seven lots auctioned raised a total of €1,265,000, which will be donated in full to the Cuban Public Health System.

(28 Feb 2017) Cuba opened its annual Cigar Festival Monday, showing the world the latest products from the rich tobacco growing bottomlands of the island nation, which draws hundreds of buyers from around the world. Demand has soared, say Cuban officials, even as tobacco crop yields have fallen for two consecutive years due to poor weather conditions. But even so, farmers and officials say enough has been harvested to provide cigar aficionados around the world with Cuba's iconic stogies; especially the higher-end products so cherished by many cigar fans. Sales of cigars have risen in the wake of a more than 12 percent increase in tourist visits to th...
